General Business

Vindi Christmas Party

Various proposals were put forward - In the end we decided to follow the old adage that a change is a good as rest and plumped for a Lunch time harbour cruise this year.  More details below

Social events for 2011

It was proposed that a picnic be held at Australian Rainforest Sanctuary (was called Forest of Tranquility)

It was also agreed that the AGM should be held prior to the picnic.   This would take place on Saturday 12 March commencing at 11 a.m.

Mike kindly offered to host another BBQ lunch on Saturday 10 July 2011 at his Valley Heights home in the Blue Mountains.

And that was all we had time for as we had to dash off to the Casino next door to join our ladies for lunch.

And very nice it was, i stuffed myself with with juicy Big Prawns and delicious Soused herring Fillets .

I suppose that's my Lancashire heritage competing with my acquired Aussie tastes.

The too good to be missed Vindi Christmas Party

This year a change to a harbour cruise boat on

Saturday December 11

The Vagabond boat leaves King St. wharf at 1230pm

for a 3 hour harbour lunch cruise

Winter Weekend in the Blue Mountains.  July 25/26 2010

Your hard working, diligent, good looking (some)  committee members were all invited to fellow committee member Mike Siegle's  new home at Valley Heights which lies somewhere west of Springwood.

Not high enough for a nose bleed but bloody chilly.

Mike being a catering boy with a wide experience of catering (of course)

(what else did you expect?)

Pulled out the stops and cooked up a storm, even I couldn't clear the table and i am a trencher of renown.

Starting as just a Sunday lunch it turned into a full weekend as everyone decided it was to damn far to go there and back in a day.

So Saturday night was much enjoyed in the Springwood Royal Hotel.

Sunday morning wasn't to bright for some of (them) (not me as I take water with it)

but we all brightened up later.

A visit to a steam railway working museum, invigorated the body and cleared the head in time for a Mikes Mammoth lunch.

I have been remiss in not mentioning Mike's good lady (well so i heard) Debbie who really did all the work as Mike is a supervisor extraordinaire! .

Left- group at the steam museum - right the Cook & the Galley Boy, both anatomically endowed for the job, you pick who's who!

Left- Couldn't find a chair! i ask you some people.  Right -Peter looks befuddled in a bar, for the first time in his life.

Left the brains trust (can't you tell)   Right -and those who wonder why.

have you  noticed that All men with white hair white beards and glasses  look alike, that's why we made them wear  wear different coloured jumpers.  Otherwise you wouldn't know him from er, er  him.
